About Us - The Board Barn

The Board Barn team wish to welcome anyone with even a hint of an interest in the sea into the store. Stuffy & judgemental we most certainly are not. We are a local family run business. We understand that things can be daunting & we are all too aware that no one can start anything as an expert, the only stupid question is the one you wanted to ask but didn't. Our staff cross all board sports & all abilities, please feel free to ask for advice & guidance. Our goal is to enhance your relationship with the sea.

This year we are supporting as many British manufacturers as we can, we are trying to cope with the Brexit deal & reduce our carbon footprint. There is a big push on the environment too, we have moved a lot of manufacturing to a British factory thats gone plastic free. We ourselves have gained a Plastic Free accreditation with Plastic Free North Devon.

Local cottage industries are featured in store again this season, Demons of Doom Killers, Little Tiger Blue, Olas, Le Surf, Soul Surf, Frosties Longboards, Kobe & West Country Surf Wax, all local companies producing first class, dare I say world class products & all taking the environment very seriously.

On a bigger scale we are stocking Tokyo Surfboards, Circle One, Charlie McLeod, FoamLife, Old Guys Rule UK, Snugg & Melon Optics.

That's a whole lot of supporting British trade right there.

We of course continue to bring you the finest products from around the globe as well, Bob & Ben McTavish boards, Josh Hall, Tomas Bexon, Neil Purchase Jnr, Al Merrick, Lost, Pukas, Pyzel, Blanks, Kream,  Blanks, Oblong, SIC, Oxbow, Mobyk, Soft Dogs & Foamie complete the board line up.

We hand pick every garment in our store from world renowned brands such as Deus Ex Machina , Dark Seas Division, Demons of Doom Killers, Santa Cruz, Bolt, Billabong, Dakine & many many more to bring you the best quality and style.

We have a great range of wetsuits from Sola, Billabong, Vissla, Dakine, Sisstr, we are also an official fitting centre for Snugg tailor fitted wetsuits, Lee has extensive wetsuit knowledge, & he should have no trouble finding the right fit for you.

If your passion is hitting concrete waves we have Z flex, Fibre flex, Lush, Arbor, Kryptonics, D street, Rocket, Enuff, Mini Logo, Hook ups, Alva, Penny, Tunnel, Frosties, Slice & Tokyo. supported with Venture, Bones, Independent, Santa Cruz, Grind King, Super Toxic, These & Rush to name a few component brands.

Spear fishing equipment is now more extensive as the sport continues to grow in the UK, we have product from Seac, Cressi, Imersion & Beaver
